As expected, the 2014 Titan "Express Yourself" Fashion Show was a great success. Not only was this the first Temescal Canyon High School fashion show to be held in a professional theatrical setting, but the turnout was the best yet for any event in the history of the Fashion Design Department, with 300 people in attendance.

There were people in attendance to support the accomplishments of the students, along with quite an impressive turnout of organizations that could further the Fashion Department's students' careers in the future. Several organizations that were present at the show included Touched clothing, Cody's Designs, the Paul Mitchell School and the impressive Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandizing (FIDM). Alumni of FIDM, such as Lauren Conrad, Amanda Bynes and Will.i.am, had displays and booths in the theater's foyer.

In the entirety of the show, 120 garments/looks were shown, and nine Canyon Lake fashion designers presented their lines and/or modeled their designs as follows: Jessica Degard, Hannah Abbate, Madison Davis, Georgia Grant, Hope McIIrath, Ana Pablos, Samantha Pruett, Diana Larson and Erica Leathly.

All hair and makeup were provided by talented students from the Paul Mitchell School, and hopefully inspired several students in the process.

The show began with design student Jacob Apollo-Looper and Shawn Long  presenting a three-minute video that they filmed and edited themselves exploring the Fashion Department. Once the show proceeded, it began with Fashion Level 1 students presenting first, and worked its way up through levels 2, 3 and 4.

During a brief intermission after Fashion Level 1's designs, Canyon Laker Kassidy Chism performed a hip hop solo for further entertainment.

All in all, the night was a great success with all positive ending remarks. As the Fashion Department's leader, Lesa Gallagher stated, "The comments have been very positive. This was the biggest undertaking the Fashion Department has experienced. We are looking forward to our show next year." As are we, Mrs. Gallagher.

And to shine even greater light on the TCHS Fashion Department, the graduating seniors have shared with us their future plans.
