The 2015 Adelaide Fringe is officially here! Tonight, the Fringe Parade will fill King William Street with fire, music and dance from 8:30pm to mark the beginning of Adelaide’s famous festival of the arts. Pre-parade entertainment will begin an hour earlier at 7:30, before the streets are taken over by seven giant divas called The Sirens who will glide past, inviting you to experience the excitement and wonder of the festival.
This year, Fresh927 will be heavily involved in The Fringe. For starters, expect to see our very own DJ’s and hosts dominating the DJ Showcase at Channel 9 studios every Saturday night. For more information on the Showcase lineup, check out our article HERE.
You can also expect to see plenty of Fresh927 personalities making an appearance at the reinvented Royal Croquet Club, which will focus this year on live music and performance. The Club will host more than 50 different shows, featuring over 175 artists across a month of awesome programming. You’ll get comedy, circus performances, live music, dancing, and a highly-anticipated set from legendary DJ Bonobo! Naturally, you can expect plenty of updates and reviews of RCC from the team at Fresh927.
Then there’s The Garden of Unearthly Delights. What can we say about The Garden? It’s THE place to go on those warm nights in February and March when you want to be surprised, amused, entertained, and fed. There are too many acts on offer at The Garden for us to list them, so check out the full program HERE. It’s a huge and varied list, but Fresh927 will be on the ground, bringing you highlights and reviews throughout The Garden season.
Of course, a huge selling point for The Fringe is the incredible lineup of local and international comedy. Some of our own Fresh927 personalities will be participating in shows, including Liam and Ben from Freshly Squeezed and everybody’s favourite teacher; Tom. We’ll also have plenty of comedians visiting the studios to talk about their Fringe performances, with the likes of Akmal Saleh and Lawrence Mooney joining our Fresh927 hosts live on the air during February and March.
To cut a long story short, The Adelaide Fringe is going to be huge in 2015, and Fresh927 is your go-to station to find out who’s on, what’s hot, and where it’s all happening. Stay tuned throughout the Festival season, and keep checking our Website (and Facebook!) for all the latest information. Happy Fringe, Freshies!
