What does it mean when it says the mat is “sticky?” Any suggestions?

Sticky mats aren’t actually sticky per se (at least not in the usual sense), they just have a non-slip surface that is obviously important when doing yoga.
I have a Gaiam yoga mat and I really like it. Gaiam is a good, established brand for yoga stuff; you can check out their website: gaiam.com/
There is definitely a difference between cheap mats and good mats so invest wisely. That’s not to say that you have to spend a lot of money, but off-brands are sometimes just not as good.
Gaiam has a variety of mats with a wide price range. I think even their cheaper ones work well, unless you’re looking for something fancy like extra cushioning.
