It's funny, a few weeks ago Brandy Lynn from Canadian Quilt Talk radio asked me in our interview why I continue to create and share new designs. My answer - I just can't stop! They just pop into my head and I'm still so curious to see how each texture looks I feel like I have to stitch it out and see what it looks like.
Case in point is this Growing Sprouts - who would have thought a wiggly spiral surrounded with echoes would look so cool!
I can definitely see using this design in a bed quilt, but to try it out I had my little goddess cheater cloth panel ready to go so I stitched this into another hair section. Now she has growing sprouted hair!

Yep, this is a combination of two things I love - spirals and rows and rows of echo quilting. I love that ripply texture, and I love how much space each sprout shape takes up.
So WHERE will Growing Sprouts work best? This design will easily fill any area of your quilt because you work in clusters - wiggly spiral, then rows of echoes - so you control the size and shape and you can either expand this to fit a huge area or shrink it down to fill a tiny space. Either way, it will easily "grow" anywhere you put it!
