Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland – Monday, July 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Ransom Center celebrates 150 years of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland with an exhibition for the curious and curiouser of all ages. Baby Bloomers – Monday, July 6 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Children age 0-3 and their families are invited to explore the beautiful continent of Asia this week. They will venture to India by making paper plate peacocks, join China’s festival of kites with goldfish kites, dive into Russia with nesting doll science, and more. Armstrong Community Music School will join the fun. Cost: Members $2.50 each / Non-Members $4.50 each. SRP Event: Visit With a Park Ranger – Monday, July 6 at 2:00 p.m. A City of Austin Park Ranger will share a story and information about animals that live in Texas. Tech Camp: Picture Collage and Graphic Design – Monday, July 6 at 2:00 p.m. Children love playing with pictures and drawing. With the online tools provided in this class, they will be able to take all of their pictures and turn them into colorful and unique collages. They also will learn how to add graphics and cool effects to their pictures with various free graphic editing tools. Discovery! Egyptian Hieroglyphics – Tuesday, July 7 at 4:30 p.m. The ancient Egyptians created a complex and beautiful form of writing called hieroglyphics for their most important records on tombs and temples. For many centuries, no one could read these mysterious symbols. Children’s Day Art Park: The Hey Lollies – Wednesday, July 8 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. One thing Austin families can count on every summer is live music and fun galore at the weekly Children’s Day Art Park. Eulenspeigel Puppet Theatre Presents The Monkey and the Crocodile – Wednesday, July 8 at 2:00 p.m. The Monkey and the Crocodile is a delightful hand puppet show adapted from a tale in the Panchatantra (one of the earliest collections of fables written in India). Alamo Kids Camp: Chicken Run – Friday, July 10. Alamo Kids Camp now has a “choose-your-own-ticket price” model ranging from $1-$3 per person – you choose the amount. This new model not only allows for tickets to be purchased online, in advance with reserved seating, but also 100% of ticket sales will be donated to local nonprofits helping families.
