Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland – Monday, June 8 – Friday, June 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Exhibit is open until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.) The Ransom Center celebrates 150 years of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland with an exhibition for the curious and curiouser of all ages. Learn about Lewis Carroll and the real Alice who inspired his story. See one of the few surviving copies of the first edition of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Discover the rich array of personal and literary references that Carroll incorporated throughout Alice. Explore the surprising transformations of Alice and her story as they have traveled through time and across continents. Follow the White Rabbit’s path through the exhibition, have a tea party, or watch a 1933 paper filmstrip that has been carefully treated by Ransom Center conservators. Free Admission at the Umlauf – Wednesday, June 10 – Friday, June 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Through the generous donations of our community during Amplify Austin, the museum and garden will waive admission fees all summer long. Baby Bloomers – Monday, June 8 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Children age 0-3 and their families are invited to adventure into the beautiful continent of Africa and discover the culture of a diverse land. They will make traditional Maasai necklaces, explore traditional African huts, compare themselves to large animals, and more. Heartsong Music will join the fun. Eulenspeigel Puppet Theatre Presents The Monkey and the Crocodile – Monday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m. The Monkey and the Crocodile is a delightful hand puppet show adapted from a tale in the Panchatantra (one of the earliest collections of fables written in India). Tech Camp: Creating My First Website – Monday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m. This fun class will introduce kids to website creation. They will learn how to approach creating a website with ease by using drag-and-drop methods. A variety of website creation services will be offered for different level users. All students will learn how to change themes, add content, and even set up interactive elements, including a store function. Creating Unforgettable Characters with Bluebonnet Author Polly Holyoke – Wednesday, June 10 at 3:00 p.m. How do great authors create believable and memorable characters? Commander Ben will be bringing his Invasive Hunter Academy to help teach kids of all ages about the invasive plant species around Central Texas.
