Anyone who regularly consumes cannabis can relate to the hilarious antics in this new web series. The pilot episode of “My Delivery Guy” just released its pilot episode yesterday, on October 16.
This web series comes to you from the filmmakers of the Marijuana Film Fest winner of the 2016 Best Narrative Short Film—Trippin’ With the Folks. The “My Delivery Guy” series has seven episodes in which two cannabis-loving roommates are good friends with their Chinese food delivery guy named Bobbo, who is played by Jon J. Peterson. The two roommates are played by Groundlings improv performers Tru Valentino and Devon Franklin.
“My Delivery Guy” is a hilarious, comedic series that demonstrates the relationship between two cannabis-consuming roommates and the delivery man they idolize. While the exact reason why the two young roommates idolize the delivery guy isn’t completely known, we can only guess it has something to do with his ability to relieve their munchies. The two roommates find ridiculous and hilarious ways to mess around with their delivery man’s life, and the unique comedy touches on themes of friendship, the unsung hero, pop culture and multiculturalism.
The first episode of this series is called “The Delivery Jesus.” Within the first minute of the pilot episode, it is clear how desperately the two roommates want to be friends with their delivery guy. The two are over the top in their compliments and love for the delivery man. They enthusiastically compete for his affection and attention, and they clearly want more friendship from him than what he is willing to reciprocate. After all, he’s just trying to get paid and get on with his workday!
What’s even better is that this web series is being released on YouTube, so you can stream it free. The creators behind this creative series are Danny MacDonald, Meghan Weinstein, Roger Liew and Nelson J.J. Flores. MacDonald is the writer and creator of the show. His background is in writing, acting and performing across the nation as a stand-up comedian. Weinstein and Liew are the producers and directors of the show, while J. J. Flores is the cinematographer.
