February 14th is traditionally the day for lovers, with romance in the air.

Make a valentine’s rose garden bed with your children for them to give to someone special. This is an easy valentine craft for everyone to enjoy. Making your valentine’s rose garden bed is easy, and requires no watering;

What You Need:

Adult’s supervision

* Coloured Patty Pans

* 1 Egg carton

* 3 Plastic Flowers (Roses)

* Coloured paper or martial

* Paint

* Glue gun

* Foam circles

* Scissors



What To Do:

Cut the top from your egg carton. Use the bottom half of the egg carton to make your rose garden bed. Paint your egg carton; once it is dry, add strips of coloured paper or scraps of material and glue it across the top of your egg carton for the flower bed.

Then stick your plastic rose flowers to the foam circles using the glue gun. Once the glue is dry and your flowers are secure, glue them into the coloured patty pans. On the outside of your egg carton paint bright some red hearts or decorate with some pretty stickers.

Make Valentines Day cards with your children for them to share with someone special too.

What You Need

• Cardboard – red or pink, are good colours to use for your cards

• Strong paper glue

• Scissors

• Coloured markers, or

• Decorations like ribbon, lace, stickers or bright coloured material

Getting Started

Draw large hearts on your coloured cardboard, have your children cut them out. Let them create their cards and decorate them with cut out material shapes, stickers, lace or ribbon. Younger children may require your assistance with cutting shapes. Stick decorations on the card.

Help younger children write on the back of their valentine’s heart, older children will take care of this them self.
