Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing,
The impact of the technology of Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing in automobile engineering, marine engineering and aerospace engineering has been tremendous. Using computers in manufacturing is receiving particular prominence as industries seek to improve product quality, increase productivity and to reduce inventory costs. Therefore, the emphasis has been attributed to the subject of CAD and its integration with CAM. Designed as a textbook for the undergraduate students of mechanical engineering, production engineering and industrial engineering, it provides a description of both the hardware and software of CAD/CAM systems. The Coverage Includes  Principles of interactive computer graphics  Wireframe, surface and solid modelling  Finite element modelling and analysis  NC part programming and computer-aided part programming  Machine vision systems  Robot technology and automated guided vehicles  Flexible manufacturing systems  Computer integrated manufacturing  Artificial intelligence and expert systems  Communication systems in manufacturing PEDAGOGICAL FEATURES  CNC program examples and APT program examples  Review questions at the end of every chapter  A comprehensive Glossary  A Question Bank at the end of the chapters

Riverbank Filtration,Improving Source-Water Quality
Chittaranjan Ray, Ph. D. , P. E. University of Hawaii at Mãnoa Honolulu, Hawaii, United States Jürgen Schubert, M. Sc. Stadtwerke Düsseldorf AG Düsseldorf, Germany Ronald B. Linsky National Water Research Institute Fountain Valley, California, United States Gina Melin National Water Research Institute Fountain Valley, California, United States 1. What is Riverbank Filtration? The purpose ofthis book is to show that riverbank filtration (RBF) isa low-cost and efficient alternative water treatment for drinking-water applications. There are two immediate benefits to the increased use of RBF: Minimized need for adding chemicals like disinfectants and coagulants to surface water to control pathogens. Decreased costs to the community without increased risk to human health. Butwhat, exactly, isRBF? In humid regions, river water naturally percolates through the ground into aquifers (which are layers of sand and gravel that contain water underground) during high-flow conditions. In arid regions, most rivers lose flow, and the percolating water passes through soil and aquifer material until it reaches the water table. During these percolation processes, potential contaminants present in river water are filtered and attenuated. If there are no other contaminants present in the aquifer or ifthe respective contaminants are present at lower concentrations, the quality of water in the aquifer can be ofhigher quality than that found in theriver. In RBF, production wells — which are placed near the banks ofrivers —pump large quantities ofwater.

Canadian Pharmacy Exams - Pharmacist Evaluating Exam Practice, Volume 1,
Canadian Pharmacy Exams - Pharmacist Evaluating Exam Practice is designed as a self-study tool to help the student seeking pharmacy licensure in Canada test his/her exam readiness, identify areas of strength and weakness to optimize learning. The book is divided according to four key areas listed below and contains over 600 exam-type questions and answers developed to meet the Evaluating Exam learning objectives. The number of practice questions in each section reflects its relevance (weight) as per the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC(r)): 25% Biomedical Sciences, 35% Pharmaceutical Sciences, 30% Pharmacy Practice and 10% Behavioural, Social and Administrative Pharmacy Sciences. All Canadian content including pharmacy practice laws and regulations. Finally, answers are supplemented by numerous comments and explanations to ensure further understanding and learning of new concepts. Learn more about future publications at www.cpeprep.c

Design Of Steel Structures (By Limit State Method As Per Is: 800 2007),
So far working stress method was used for the design of steel structures. Nowadays whole world is going for the limit state method which is more rational. Indian national code IS:800 for the design of steel structures was revised in the year 2007 incorporating limit state method. This book is aimed at training the students in using IS: 800 2007 for designing steel structures by limit state method. The author has explained the provisions of code in simple language and illustrated the design procedure with a large number of problems. It is hoped that all universities will soon adopt design of steel structures as per IS: 2007 and this book will serve as a good textbook.A sincere effort has been made to present design procedure using simple language, neat sketches and solved problems.
