The Complete Guide to Investing in Commodity Trading and Futures,How to Earn High Rates of Returns Safely
Many people have become very rich in the commodity markets. It is one of a few investment areas where an individual with limited capital can make extraordinary profits in a relatively short period of time. Commodities are agreements to buy and sell virtually anything that is harvested except onions. (A 1958 federal law prohibits trading onions.) Such goods are raw or partly refined materials whose value mainly reflects the costs of finding or gathering them. They are traded for processing or incorporation into final goods. Examples are crude oil, cotton, rubber, grains, and metals and other minerals. Since it is impractical to transport these bulky, often perishable materials, what is actually traded are commodities futures contracts, or options, that are agreements to buy or sell at an agreed upon price on a specific date. Trading in futures and options is speculative in nature and there is a substantial risk of loss. These investments are not suitable for everyone, and only risk capital should be used. As with many other business segments, the Internet and technology have opened up this attractive marketplace to a new breed of individual investors and speculators working part-time. You and I can now stand on an even playing field with the largest banks, wealthiest individuals, and trading institutions from the comfort of home. Commodity trading can provide you with very high, secure rate of return, in some cases as high as 12%, 18%, 24%, or even 300% or more per year. If performed correctly, commodity trading will far outpace all other investments. The key is to know how to perform this process correctly. This all sounds great, but what is the catch? Like the pros who have been trading commodities for years, you will learn how to pinpoint entry, exits, and targets for your trades, and use insider secrets to help you double or even triple your investment all while avoiding the common traps and pitfalls. Savage Money,The Anthropology and Politics of Commodity Exchange
The era of savage money began on 15 August 1971 when the US Government, financially weakened by the Vietnam War, was forced to renounce its control over the gold market. This freed the price of gold from government control for the first time since 1934 and created a new commodity in the form of state money tokens. The triumph of Market over State occurred in many other domains as well and since then the values of free market anarchism have reigned supreme. These values have been eagerly embraced by people the world over and a new global economic democracy is emerging where cultural identity is often asserted in violent ways. This new era poses questions for the theory of value, which this book addresses from an anthropological perspective. Fieldwork-based essays on the household values associated with agricultural land, rural marketing and village money lending in Central India are located comparatively and historically by means of an analysis of money in the form of cowries, silver, gold and state tokens. The author modifies and extends his previous work, Gifts and Commodities, by moving the ethnographic focus from Papua New Guinea to India and by considering the theoretical implications of the Subaltern Studies paradigm for anthropological theory.

Macroeconomics and Markets in India,Good Luck Or Good Policy?
India was one of the better performers after the global financial crisis, and has done well despite opening out in a period of great international volatility. This book asks if this was due to luck or to good management. How much did macroeconomic policy contribute and did it do as much as it could have, on a reform path that was not standard? Are there any lessons from the Indian experience for the rest of the world? Senior Indian policy economists, market participants, and researchers address these interesting and important questions. There are those who think financial reform has gone too fast - relaxations in foreign borrowing norms exposed firms to external shocks. Volatile capital flows impacted markets, although more liberalization of risk-sharing equity compared to debt flows, was effective in reducing domestic risk. But there are also those who think reform was too slow - choking financial development: many markets and instruments that could improve domestic financial intermediation and reduce risk were held back. Analysis suggests policy was able to find the correct timing, pace and combination of reforms and of caution, but improvement is always possible. Luck and inherent strengths of the economy helped absorb both policy mistakes and external shocks. This book was originally published as a special issue of Macroeconomics and Finance in Emerging Market Economies.
