ABOUT

WONDER-FULL

Back in 1999, DJ Spinna and Bobbito were asked to spin at a party which paid tribute to the great Stevie Wonder. The duo quickly realized they had a mutual love for Little Stevie’s music and, judging from the atmosphere on the dance floor that night, they knew they had a good thing going. A classic East Coast party was born. Wonder-full falls on the weekend of Stevie’s May 13 birthday and features handpicked rare and funky covers from Spinna’s and Bobbito’s vaults. Today, KeiStar Productions spearheads sole production of the now incontestable and world renown WONDER-Full event. And lucky for us, the time has arrived once again for our West Coast ears to hear some songs in the key of life.

DJ SPINNA

With Wonder-full and Soul Slam, Spinna transforms the song books of Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and Prince into a dream like journey – part history lesson, part love letter – into which packed dance floors full of soul music lovers, immerse themselves year after year. Celebrated as one of the most sought after dance floor magicians, it often goes unmentioned that Spinna is a heavy weight producer and remixer. His solo productions, collaborations and remixes have allowed him to work with some of the brightest musicians of our times including Stevie Wonder, Robert Glasper, Jose James, Goapele, De La Soul, Michael Jackson, J Dilla, Anita Baker, and A-Trak, to name a few.

HAKOBO

Jacobo Juarez is one of the most forward-thinking members of the Bay Area’s music community. Through his body of work as a business owner (SOM), DJ (Hakobo), event producer (fresco), and Red Bull Music Academy’s Bay Area representative, it’s easy to see that Hakobo lives, dreams and breathes music. Whether it’s throwing the very 1st J Dilla Tribute party, teaming Aloe Blacc, Bilal & Gary Bartz for their 1st collaboration, or championing the Bay Area’s musical talents with OMF, it’s exciting to see what’s next in Hakobo’s vision of the future.

PROOF

Marky Enriquez aka Proof is one of the West Coast elite, throwing game-changing events and spinning coast-to-coast with the hottest selections. As one of the original members of Massive Selector, a San Francisco-based collective of artists, DJs, and entrepreneurs, Marky produces acclaimed events such as Wonder-Full: A Tribute to the Wonders of Stevie, Soul Slam: Prince and Michael Jackson, and SFNY. Heavily influenced by funk, soul, disco, hip-hop, and house, Markys sound definitely caters to the dancefloor. His mixes crosses genres seamlessly, and has created a buzz with music lovers. Marky has played alongside international DJs such as ?uestlove, Gilles Peterson, Bobbito, Peanut Butter Wolf, Dam-Funk, Flying Lotus and countless others. Catch Marky at Sweater Funk, the SF’s only party dedicated to boogie funk & modern soul on original wax at The Knockout every Sunday.

KING MOST

DJ King Most got his start in music over 12 years ago, when he caught the DJ bug from his older brother. For years he paid his dues deejaying house parties, school dances and lugging around equipment until finally he became one of the consistently booked dj’s in the San Francisco bay area. Armed with a record collection and tastes that span every genre and style (Hip-Hop, Soul, Disco, Latin, etc), King Most can be frequently seen and heard bringing classic anthems and new sounds to the masses up and down the west coast. From Seattle, to the Bay Area, to Los Angeles he’s had no problem making good people dance . In a night expect to hear everything from Stevie Wonder, De La Soul, Missy Elliot, Ray Barretto, Cymande, War and dozens of other forgotten musical heroes from past and present.
