I’m VERY excited and overjoyed to be opening up for the exceptionally talented Hip-Hop/Soul collective Left University on Thursday, 8/13 at the beautiful music venue Yoshi’s Oakland-San Francisco Join us for an unforgettable summer night filled with live music (2 full bands) that will make your ears, minds, and hearts SOUL happy! Born in Quezon City on the island of Luzon in the Philippines, Tracy Cruz’s alluring voice is comprised of sounds old and new, resembling Jill Scott’s throaty moans and Sarah Vaughan’s lyrical accentuation, all while still managing to remain distinct. With a vocal range that stretches from unbelievable lows to soprano highs, Tracy pulls from her thriving passion of Filipino ballads.
She was an official Soultracks.com nominee for “Female Vocalist of the Year” for their 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards and “New Artist of the Year” for their 2009 Reader’s Choice Awards. Tracy has been featured on Soultrain.com three times and was chosen to be a music ambassador for Supercuts “Rock the Cut”.
