Police in Philadelphia and nearby suburbs are investigating three vehicle accidents.

All three Vehicle Accidents, a car accident, atruck accident, and a motorcycle accident, all involved serious injury or fatality.

Police in Montgomery County are investigating a fatal accident that occurred around 2:30 pm, on Tuesday, July 30, 2013.  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, at the intersection of Treeline and Pioneer drives in Montgomeryville.

Franklin Township, NJ police continue their investigation of a car accident that ended with one car in a pond and another bursting into flames on Sunday, July 28, 2013.  Police the car accident occurred around 4:45 a.m. near the intersection of Grant and Jackson Avenues.  The two cars were travelling at a high rate of speed, possibly drag racing.  Both drivers lost control of their vehicles.  A BMW driven by 21-year-old Lateef Scarlett overturned as it travelled into a small pond off Little Ease Run.  The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, after divers pulled him from the vehicle.  The second car, a 1999 Honda Accord driven by 21-year-old John Dingle, Jr. of Clayton, struck a tree at Jackson and Grant, overturned and caught fire.  The driver is in Cooper Medical Center in stable condition.

Around 9:15 pm Monday evening, July 29, in South Philadelphia, a19-year-old male motorcycle driver and an 18-year-old female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene of a motorcycle accident, when their motorcycle was involved in an accident with a car, near the baseball stadium, Citizens Bank Park, at South Broad Street and Pattison Avenue.  The driver of the car remained at the scene and an investigation as to the cause of the motorcycle accident is underway.

On a brighter note, a Pennsylvania man rescued 18-year-old Brooke Spense from her overturned SUV late Saturday in West Hempfield Township after she remained injured, trapped and undetected for 18 hours in underbrush by a creek following a car accident.  Brad Shearer noticed the glimmering vehicle in the brush on his deck Sunday evening.  He went to investigate, found Spense calm and conscious, while his wife called 911.  Spense lost her cell phone during the accident and was therefore unable to call for help, and her parents were away on vacation.  Spense remains in the hospital in serious condition.

Two of the three vehicle accidents involved the untimely death of young adults.  The tragedy of a sudden car accident, truck accident, or motorcycle accident, with serious injury or an untimely death is devastating to the family and loved ones of those injured.  Sometimes the injuries are permanent and life changing.
