The US authorities have already started an investigation into the near-miss. It is yet unknown whether the movie star or someone else was flying the plane.

It looks like actor’s Aviat Husky single-engine propellor aircraft was given clearance to land on Runway 20L at the airport in Orange County. The FAA said the pilot confirmed the approved landing instruction back to the ATC tower.

While on the final approach, the Indiana Jones star is cited as asking air traffic controllers: “Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?”

“The pilot then landed on a taxiway that runs parallel to the runway, overflying a Boeing 737 that was holding short of the runway,” the FAA said in a statement.

The Boeing 737-800 of the American Airlines, had 110 passengers and six crew members on board. The plane was scheduled to operate a flight from Orange County to Dallas Monday afternoon.

NTSB officials were informed that Harrison Ford was involved in a landing incident at John Wayne airport. They are currently collecting more details before deciding whether to start an inquiry.
