The christening of Prince George was held Wednesday at the St. James Palace in London. The Prince, who is third in line to the British throne, was baptized by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Chapel Royal. The baptism of the royal baby George, Prince of Cambridge, has been “very intimate ceremony,” according to the royal family who announced that: “Christening of Prince George, son of Prince William and Duchess Kate, is a private event attended by members of the royal family, four members of the Middleton family , the seven godparents and their spouses.”

The Duchess of Cambridge was dressed in a quite sophisticated beige outfit, wearing a hat and minimal accessories. Both parents seemed excited upon the entrance to the Church. The ceremony lasted about 45 minutes.
Prince George Alexander Louis was born in London on July 22, 2013. The seven godparents are: Oliver Baker, Emilia Jardine-Paterson, Earl Grosvenor, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Julia Samuel, William van Cutsem and Zara Tindall.
Zara Tindall is the wife of former rugby player Mike Tindall and Prince William’s cousin, while the other six godparents are all friends of the royal couple.

The little Prince wore an outfit of satin and lace, inspired from the 1841′s christening gown of the Princess Victoria. The model was worn over the ages by 60 royal babies. The religious service was officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, at 15:00 local time.
The baptism of the small British heir saw also other high-ranking officials such as the couples Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Camilla, Princess Kate’s parents as well as Prince Harry, Pippa and James. After the ceremony, there was a private reception at the Clarence House.
