MILWAUKEE (WITI) — The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather ADVISORY to take effect starting 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31st and running through midnight on Wednesday, January 1st.

The NWS says the advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Roads could become snow-covered and slippery — and the snow could limit visibility. Monitor the FOX6 Storm Center Forecast regularly by CLICKING HERE.

A Wind Chill Advisory will be in place for Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties at 1 a.m. through noon Tuesday.

A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect for most of SE Wisconsin beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Monday Night: Light snow before midnight. 1 to 1.5″ possible. Low: 0°. Wind chills: -10° to -20°. Wind: NW 7-14 mph

Tuesday: Partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of snow late. High: 10°. Daytime wind chills below -5° to -15°. Wind: WNW 7-14 mph

Tuesday Night: Cloudy with snow likely. Low: 3°. Wind: N 5-10 mph

New Year’s Day: Mostly cloudy with light to moderate snow. High: 18°. Daytime wind chills near 0°. Wind: NE 7-14 mph

Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of flurries. Morning low: 5°. Afternoon high: 18°. Wind: NW 8-16 mph
