HARRISON COUNTY, Ind. –Seven overdue cavers are the subject of a search and rescue effort in Binkley’s Cave near Corydon, Indiana.
A group of seven experienced cavers were surveying the cave and failed to exit the cave early Sunday morning as expected.
The trip plan called for the group to exit after 15 hours.
High water levels in the cave have hampered search efforts in the area of the cave where the group was surveying.
Indiana Conservation Officers along with trained personnel from the National Cave Rescue Commission are coordinating the search and rescue effort.
Several other agencies along with volunteer cavers and grotto members are said to be participating in the recovery effort.
