KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Royals closer Wade Davis and a Kansas City clothing line are teaming up to support veterans.
Save A Warrior is a non-profit group aimed at helping veterans cope with PTSD and life after service. Freelance Clothing has released a special edition Davis T-shirt that’s out just in time for what’s hopefully another Royals World Series run.
Freelance tells FOX 4 that Davis is a big supporter, and he already donated $10,000 to Save A Warrior before the shirts came about. The new shirts show off number 17 front and center, and the Save A Warrior emblem is on the shoulder.
The T-shirt company is giving all of the profits to Save A Warrior, which means so much to veterans like Andrew Potter.
“One of Save A Warrior's biggest things is to learn to serve others instead of yourself, and you can really find healing through that. It's such a great testament to Royals Charities and Wade and Katelyn Davis that they don't do this for any recognition. They just do it to serve others,” Potter said.
The shirts are only available online at Freelance’s website. Sales started Wednesday, and most shipping is next-day except weekends, so you have time to get one before the World Series starts.
