BROOMFIELD, Colo. — A car crashed into the west side of a Broomfield tire store Saturday morning.
According to Broomfield’s Enterprise, a vehicle drove into the side of Peerless Tires 4 Less at 11985 Teller St. in Broomfield early Saturday, leaving a large hole in the building.
Broomfield Sgt. Heidi Walts told Enterprise a report about the crash came in just before 2:45 a.m., after a witness saw the vehicle in the side of the tire store.
When the witness went to see if anyone was hurt in the incident, the driver fled the scene on foot, said Walts.
She added that police may know the identify of the driver, but said she could not release a lot of information to the public while the investigation was still on-going.
The accident resulted in thousands of dollars of damage to Peerless Tires 4 Less, said Walt.
Tim Hart, a regional manager for the tire store, speculated that the car was traveling at high speeds when it crashed into the building.
He added that a clean up crew came in early, allowing the store to open for business Saturday.
