Well hello my little gumdrops, and welcome to another Friday together.  Whew. This week has been banana crazy, and only now can I share some super super big news. This girl has landed a new gig! {What!?!}  That’s right, I have been offered a role in another agency as a SEO Executive, and I begin at the end of February! I had an interview Monday evening, offered the role on Tuesday and put my notice in on Wednesday. Can you tell my head is spinning ever so slightly? Needless to say,  I am thrilled, a bit shocked and anxious about the change…but I am ready for a new challenge for sure!

This new role for me is a win on a few levels.  Professionally, it is a step up in technical skills for sure.  But, personally this move will give me a jumpstart creatively and inspire me to get hungry again.  I’ve been in my current role for about 16 months now and I haven’t really felt valued or needed.  I’ve lost a little pep in my step.  Worst of all: I’ve second guessed myself and I’ve settled. And you and I both know, that isn’t okay.   This new role, in this new agency, is giving me a whole new renewed burst of energy and confidence.

I also have to say, I have to give a bit of a nod to Neal for helping achieve this “W”. He is the one who drove me to the interviews, gave me practice questions and boosted my fragile professional confidence to even apply in the first place.   I am beyond lucky to have someone who reminds me of my value and self worth, when I forget every now and then. {Thanks, N.}

Yippee!! And with that, who doesn’t love a very happy happy Starbucks selfie?

Since I am bursting at the seams with joy, I want to offer 50% all ad spots for today only! {So, if you have been considering jumping onto my sidebar this is a perfect time!}  All to spread a bit of happiness and joy!  Simply use promo code: HAPPYDANCE and get 50% off any spot today only.  Whoo hoo!

Now, let me share a few other moments of joy that I had this week:

Anytime real women are shown for their beauty, without airbrushing I am inspired. Like this professional lingerie campaign, where none of the photos were touched up.

When a man adopts a blind dog three legged dog, he has a heart of gold. When he welds a wagon to give his dog the experience of being outside…. well that is inspiring. Really.

Or when a Dad plans a surprise for 13 years for his daughter, leading up to her high school graduation. This is such a special moment!

What about you? What inspired you?

Now taking my happy happy Friday dance, to one very lovely dancin’ lady: Jackie from Jade & Oak.  I have to tell you, I really enjoy Jackie and her blog. And no, it isn’t because she has the cutest pair of pugs ever.  I enjoy Jackie’s blog because she is a sweet down-to-earth lifestyle blogger that makes me laugh.  Oh, she is also planning her wedding, takes adult ballet classes {with tutus and full ballet shoes, so envious!} and Jackie cooks up a storm. Have you met?  Whelp, this is your lucky day! Meet Jackie everyone!

Tell me about your blog:  I started my blog as a way to share my inspirations, but to also keep myself inspired. We had just bought a 70-year old house and wanted to work hard to decorate it and make it “us.” I found so much inspiration in other blogs and thought starting my own would keep me motivated. And now I blog about a little bit of everything – decorating, cooking, my pugs and wedding planning!

What makes your heart sing? So many little things – a clean house, a Chipotle burrito bowl, a pedicure, a trip to Target, a Friday night in with the boy watching our favorite tv shows, pug kisses, a sunny day at the pool, a perfect margarita (on the rocks with salt of course) and meeting awesome blogging friends.

Give me five words to describe yourself: crazy pug mom attorney dancer

If we were to have coffee together, what drink would I treat you to? Skinny vanilla latte please!

A personal goal for 2014 is to love myself more. How do you take care of yourself or make time for you? I’ve been taking adult ballet classes for about 8 years now. It was scary to start a hobby like this as an adult, but I love it! Unlike my time at the gym where my mind wanders, when I step into ballet class I leave all my worries at the door. During class I am focused on myself and feel more balanced and refreshed after every class. Plus I can’t check my phone so that’s a bonus!

You just won an all expense trip anywhere in the world for two weeks. Where do you go? Who do you take with you? I have been dying to go to Thailand so I would absolutely book that first. I’m sure my fiancé would be more than happy to accompany me.

What one book could you re-read over and over?  Pride and Prejudice

If you could rid the world of one thing, what would it be? Ignorance. I think it’s important for people to keep an open mind but not everyone can do that.

You are planning an unforgettable dinner party. What three celebrities or historical persons would you invite {dead or alive}?  I’m super awkward around new people. I’ve actually met some celebrities I really admire and have gotten tongue-tied. So I’d probably keep my dinner party to just family and friends.
