Open source teaches us that when you have no obstacles in your way, things can move from idea to implementation fast. In this video talk by Johan Stokking, learn about the rapid rise of The Things Network in Amsterdam.

The part of the video I loved best is when Stokking explains how he contacted a number of companies to sponsor some of the gateways for this network — and they all said yes to his request. Moral of the tale? Don’t be afraid to ask.
