Hey guys,
I know to most of you out there, equipment in MLB the Show doesn't matter. But to me it always has and always will since I believe that is a big part of having a sports game as authentic as possible and in this day and age I think how a player looks on the field is a huge part of the game these days. With that being said, here's my equipment/general wishlist for MLB the Show 17
- Mizuno catching gear, fielding gloves, and batting gloves
- Zinger, Old Hickory, Tucci, Trinity, MaxBat, and Victus bats
- Marucci fielding gloves, batting gloves, elbow/shin gaurds
- Hard plastic elbow & shin guards (like Belgard) that players started wearing this season
- SSK brand fielding gloves
- Lizard skin bat tape
- Adidas, New Balance, Swingman, and Jordan cleats (as well as more options for the current brands already in the game)
- Nike catching gear (I have no idea why there wasn't any in this years game?)
- Have 2 different design options for the UA/Nike/Adidas arm sleeves: for instance have another option for the arm sleeves where there isn't a certain design on the sleeve like in this years game where it's just the brand logo on the sleeve (which you can change the color of say the Nike check or UA logo)
- All arm bands can have branded logos on them such as Nike, UA, Adidas, Marucci, etc.
- Mid & Low cleat options
- All Star brand shin/elbow guards
- Thumb guards for bats
- Camo & Digi Camo team color options for batting gloves, cleats, wrist guards, etc
- Home & Away color options (like the have in the NBA 2K games)
- More throwback uniforms as well as the uniforms they wear on 4th of July, Memorial day, etc
- Have more than just the bats change colors on Mothers and Fathers days
- Face guard option on helmets (Like Javy Baez or Giancarlo Stanton)
- Adidas batting gloves, fielding gloves, arm sleeves etc
- Swingman batting gloves
- Fielding gloves, Batting gloves, and cleats should be more customizable (for instance none of the Mizuno cleats can be edited in this year's game to have white tips on Mizuno cleats)
- Players should be chewing gum and or sunflower seeds
- Road to the show should really look at NBA 2K's My Career and have a storyline for Road to the show (maybe since prospects have impacted teams so much recently that the storyline could be based off you being a very promising prospect)
- We need rain delays and double headers
- Having the World Baseball Classic would be amazing
- For Road to the show and Franchise, have the Arizona Fall League or some winter league to improve your RTTS player or your prospects in Franchise Mode
- Outfield collisions with other players and outfield walls
- Realistic baseball injuries like concussions, TJ surgery, etc.
- Be able to play games with your single A farm team
- More facial hair and hair options for customizing current or created players
- Have better Asian, Hispanic, and African American options for preset faces
- Tattoos (I know this is very tricky since companies have to be careful not using the exact artwork so they don't get sued)
- Get rid of the god awful "new pitching styles" and go back to the old ones (example: see Jeff Samardzija's pitching style from this year's game)
I know a lot of this is wishful thinking and to most of you, you feel like there's more important things to improve on. But this is how I feel what would be welcomed additions to making this next year's game that much more authentic.
