so last legislative Session our fair neighbors to the east in the land of tasty potato (Idaho) passed a new law making an Enhanced Concealed Weapons License. their "regular" concealed weapons license isn't recognized in many states because of lax issue criteria (ie no training required, 18 year olds can get one etc etc etc) so Idaho created a separate program for an "enhanced license" requiring extensive training, in depth background checks, etc.

so when Governor Otter signed the law the Idaho Attorney General sent official letters to his counterparts in all 50 states explaining the new law and asking if those states will honor Idaho's new enhanced license. one of these found it's way to the Arkansas State Police who sent this response.... the response is taken from Idaho State Police's website

(note Arkansas passed a law saying that concealed handgun licenses from all 50 states are to be recognized)

so they won't honor any idaho licenses because Idaho calls their license a "concealed weapons license" and in their opinion the law (intended to allow all 50 states to carry in AR) only applies to a concealed "handgun" license.....

of course this means licenses from Florida (Concealed Weapons Permit) Delaware (Concealed Deadly Weapons License) or Pennsylvania (License to Carry Firearms) North Dakota (concealed weapons permit) or Oklahoma (concealed weapons license) are apparently on the no go list in the Natural State
