When using my laptop, epsxe will not detect or use my dedicated GPU. It defaults to my Intel HD graphics. I am using epsxe 1.9 and Petes 2.9 video plugin.

Specs:

Sager NP8295 Laptop

CPU: Intel Haswell 4700MQ

GPU: AMD HD Radeon 8970m

Windows 8 64 bit

If I use high to max video settings and fullscreen 1080p, my FPS will stagger around 30-50 fps in some games, causing an overall slowdown of gameplay, making games unplayable unless I lower the video settings. This is occurring because my dedicated GPU is not being detected or engaged by EPSXE. I can tell by monitoring in GPU-z, all of the load is being handled by Intel HD graphics, and the 8970m is idling.

When I poke around in the video plugin options, I see a dropdown menu to select a device, but my only option is "Primary Device" or "Intel 4600 HD Graphics".

Is there any way to FORCE epsxe to use my 8970m?
