This is a feeler for a great, clean and fast car. IF I get the right offer I will very much consider letting it go. There is NOTHING wrong with the car, I am just looking for a TDI or possibly a 3rd gen 4runner (two very different ends of the spectrum, I know). I am entertaining Cash, trades, or a combination of the two --
The Specs
2006 Jetta Sedan 2.0t Package 3 (the most uncommon and highest available trim)
- Platinum Grey Metallic Paint
- OEM Bi-Xenon Headlights
-Power Driver Seat and Leather Everything (heated fronts and Dual Zone Automatic Climate Control -- A/C intact and Ice Cold)
- Faux Wood Grain Trim
- Ventilated Glove Box (is not a Fridge, but will keep things room temp or cooler)
- 100% working sunroof (tilt and retract)
- OEM integrated navigation/Radio/SAT system and Multi Function Display and 6 disk CD changer
- OEM 17in Two Piece Wheels (polished lips and bolts, powder coated spokes in 2014)
- 130xxx miles on chassis -- approx 50k on engine rebuild (detailed below) -- 0W-30 Full Synthetic Euro Motor Oil used its entire life since rebuild - I have owned for approx 10k
The GOOD
2.0t FSI
- full teardown and engine gone thru approx 50k ago (completed by fellow Vortex Member prior to my ownership)
- full service history since my ownership will be provided (includes Fluid Changes, Cam Follower, Lash Adjusters, etc)
- GT28RS Turbo upgrade (pretty much maxed at 25 PSI peak, will require larger turbo for addtl power)
- ARP Studs
- Front Mount I/C
- GFB DV+ (great for partial throttle, modulates boost very well)
- 3in intake / washable filter
- Methanol Injection
- S4 injector swap
- Custom Eurodyne Tune (approx 350 WHP and similar TQ -- will likely have Dyno run in the coming weeks - can provide previous DYNO w/ DP only and NO Meth)
**Anti-Lag option when Trac Control off and in Manual or Sport mode --- will hold RPMS at 4k and build slight boost) -- car will lay stripes thru 3rd gear after a proper launch
Unitronic DSG Tune
- 3in Eurojet catback --- resonator equipped -- CAT delete -- 3in DP
- KONI FSD Cup Kit w/ H&R Springs (approx 1.5in drop, but VERY comfy ride)
- OSRAM CBI Headlights Bulbs (arguably the BEST D2S bulb avail)
- LED Front Signals and Plate Lights (Lifetime Warranty LED from DEAUTOKEY) **NO BULB OUT after thousands of miles**
- Yellow High Beams and matching Yellow Tinted Fogs (removable film)
- 30% window tint (no tine on front or rear windshield)
- Smoked Side Markers w/ Philips Blue Vision Bulbs (Very White light Incandescent, but not quite LED output)
- Both Front Fenders Replaced under VW Corrosion Warranty in 2015 (brand new OEM fenders repainted by local VW dealer)
- MK5 GTI Steering Wheel Swap w/ Aluminum Paddle Shifters (retains full functionality, but better aesthetics and race kar Flat Bottom Wheel advantage!!)
- Subwoofer and Amp mounted in trunk -- not sure of the specs, but it sounds great, no capacitor or overheating issues EVER
- Tires Replaced in 2015 w/ General GMAX AS-03
- Headliner Replaced under Warranty by previous owner
The BAD
- almost 10 years old and is NOT perfect --- car looks GREAT from 15ft -- has minor dings and scratches which will be photographed --- rock chips on hood, paint de-lam on bumper inserts (the headlight washer trim piece)
- I trust this car 1000% to drive ANY distance, but it is a modified vehicle, so there are bound to be hiccups
- Examples of hiccups I've ran into : silicone hose couplers for the I/C piping becoming detached (can be fixed easily), exhaust heat shield rattle form somewhere up front (only noticeable 1700-2200RPM in 1st and 2nd gear)
broken headlight tabs (common VW problem, OEM repair kits are available and may even be fixed by the time this sells)
- it is overdue for a DSG fluid change (if you're of the 40k mile interchange belief -- I have had NO issues w/ DSG shifting and it is a crisp as ever w/ the tune) -- this is also considered the "stronger" of the two DSG offered in the MK5 generation
- this car can be thirsty, but staying out of boost will help
- may need brakes done in the future (likely the cheap Duralast pads causing steering wheel vibration on braking, may very well be replaced w/ Hawk HPS before sale)
- cigarette burn on headliner on Passenger A-Pillar (not visible from D/S)
- scratch on Radio Screen
- Chip on lower area of Windshield (has not grown since previous owner taking possession 5 years ago)
Overall Interior 8/10 -- Exterior 7.5/10 -- Fun to Drive 10/10
Again, I love this car and I trust it to get me anywhere -- the truth is I drive 70+ miles a day and I need something a little more efficient, or less mechanical upkeep -- It is very comfortable, easy to drive and CAN BE fuel efficient (I average about 27 mpg per tank, 75% HWY and 25% city) however, I would not recommend this vehicle to a newbie VW owner, but only if they don't like getting dirty and fine tuning/adjusting modified automobiles -- like they say, you gotta pay to play
-- it is a pretty quick little car and you will have NO issues merging, passing, blocking or running against most any moderately modified vehicle (this car has held its own against MANY Subaru's, a 5.7 GTO and a C5 Corvette for some examples)
I would only consider selling this for the the right figure, which will not be named. Even as I type this I am having second thoughts, but I feel that it is a good time in my life to slow down a little and focus on some other areas -- This is my daily driver and mileage will increase daily -- FYI the car will pass MD emissions OBDII test --- the tune has taken care of any possible detection
I am away from my home computer and will attach photos ASAP when I return -- please ask any questions and I will answer to the best of my ability -- thanks for reading and sorry about the long post, but if it were me, I would rather have TOO much info than not enough --
