This question applies both in general & specifically for some sites requiring 3rd party scripts before a site is usable, or can login an acct, etc.
It's not critical, "must have today" info - so, if anyone wants to take a stab at explanations, do so at your leisure.

Sometimes I really wonder what all that 3rd party scripts do, when they're absolutely required by sites (as I'm sure other inquiring minds do also).
I'm trying to get a better sense of 3rd party scripts some sites require for acct login. This used to be less common.

Some on Lowes (general example) like Bazaarvoice or Ensighten may just deliver content, or along w/ that, could be gathering user data & tracking to fullest extent. Even though they're on "trusted" sites. Because tracking isn't currently against the law in US (even at most egregious level), if they won't get significantly fined or put out of business, some companies will always do anything they can get away with.

Which is the reason that there's no such thing as a completely trustworthy site, to some users. You likely have no idea what (all) the scripts do, unless you read & understand each one.

This is a generic query on how sites - may - use 3rd parties to provide much of their function, not just tracking & advertising, vs. an accusation about anything. I noticed that this forum -
https://getsatisfaction.com/ghostery
- requires 2 out of 3 different cloudfront scripts, in order to see the complete login form or be able to login. This used to be less common for site accts & forums. While other GetSatisfaction sites or forums don't require any 3rd party scripts to just login (as well as many other sites not requiring any).

Some of what Cloudfront provides is probably the login form & user verification.
If true, questions regarding usernames & PWs come up. I'd assume there could be a number of ways to handle them, even if the 3rd party was providing most of the login verification scripts.

These are the 3 cloudfront scripts listed in NS & in the Fx page source.

What are some of the other, more "interesting" functions these scripts would provide, especially if not using NoScript? Not that simple ads on free addons' sites is a terrible thing. Tracking (on any site) is another.

If one is interested in quickly searching thru some of the actual scripts required for basic sites' functions, what are some of the more common key terms or phrases, indicating the very types of behavior that many NoScript users may want to block in the 1st place?

Thanks.
