I had an very nice HS Precision stock on my .35 Whelen 700 (blind mag ADL style). About a year into owning the rifle it developed some hairline cracks on the bottom of the mag well. Spoke to HS Precision and they said send it back for a warranty repair. Well right after I spoke to them and opened the work order I moved from FL to NC in a big hurry because of my wife's medical problems. I called them about a month ago to let them know and that I had moved and I wanted to send in the stock. They re-opened the work order and said ship it in.

Well 3 weeks later, EVEN after including a note with the stock AGAIN reminding them I had moved and to ship back to my NEW address, they shipped it to, guess where? Florida! So I had to pay $20 to a neighbor in my old place who received it so they could forward to me.

Open the box and the stock still shows the cracks where they repaired it inside the mag well and when I mounted the action into the stock the repair opened up again.

I talked to them this morning and they tried to blame this on me, said the mag box is probably too long (it is not) and when I said the bottom of this stock does not appear to be very strong they said (AND I QUOTE), "Well it's just fiberglass and bondo down there.". WHAT?!?!?!?

They then asked me to ship the stock back on my dime and at this point I was pissed. I told the guy I'm already $40 in shipping into this repair because of THEIR shipping screwup why would I want to spend any more of my money on this stock? Maybe I should just trash it and spend my money on a better one... His response, "Well if that's the way you feel about it...". I then said, "why don't YOU pay for the stock to be picked up... " again silence on the line. Then he says "Ok I'll tell the secretary to send you a shipping label on email."

That was at 9:00am today. So far NO shipping label.

A few years ago I broke a B&C Medalist when I screwed up the bedding job and made that quite clear to the CS lady, I wanted them to repair the break if possible, she just asked me to send it back. A week later I got a brand new stock in the mail.

Guess who's getting ALL my stock money from now on? They can take Lon Horiuchi's enthusiastic endorsement and shove it where the sun don't shine. HS Precision can just kiss my ass...
