Celebrate #TombRaider20 at the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 Square Enix Experience
We’re celebrating #TombRaider20 and San Diego Comic Con in a big way, with highly anticipated Rise of the Tomb Raider news just over the horizon. Square Enix fans can get in on the action at the show with the return of the Square Enix Experience, welcoming attendees to explore an outdoor activity center featuring the company’s leading franchises.*
Located at 7th Avenue and Market Street in the heart of San Diego’s Gaslamp District, June 22-23, The Square Enix Experience returns with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – The Icarus Dash, Final Fantasy XV – The Royal Race and a Rise of the Tomb Raider Glacier Climb. The Icarus Dash involves a bungee run with laser guns, The Royal Race unfolds on a go-kart track, and Rise of the Tomb Raider’s Glacier Climb will allow fans to test their footing on a 30-foot glacier wall, with photos snapped at the height of their adventure. This obstacle challenge is the latest event in the Tomb Raider 20 Year Celebration (#TombRaider20), a year-long salute to the iconic Lara Croft.*
After ascending the climbing wall, visitors can secure a custom #TombRaider20 dogtag with their name on. Follow Tomb Raider on our social accounts and share a photo using the #SquareEnixExperience hashtag to get your hands on a #TombRaider20 lanyard, featuring a pixelated tribute to the iconic Lara Croft. A pair of official Lara Croft cosplay ambassadors will also be stationed at the Square Enix Experience – 16-year cosplay veteran Jenn Croft and 18-year cosplay veteran Annie Roig. The duo will be armed and ready for photos as the original 1996 adventurer, and her 2016 counterpart.*
After an exhausting sprint with a bungee, a go-kart race, and a treacherous wall climb, visitors can relax in the beer garden and enjoy music with an ice-cold beer. The beer will be offered after a donation to charity for those 21 years and older. The Square Enix Arcade will host numerous kiosks featuring Square Enix’s premier games. Visitors can enter and experience some of the most highly anticipated and recently released games for the first time.
In addition to the Square Enix Experience, we’ll be celebrating #TombRaider20 with an official panel, including a merchandise announcement comic fans have been requesting for years.*
We hope to see you at the show!
