Lara Croft GO Art Contest Announced to Benefit Child’s Play Charity
Square Enix Montreal challenges you to submit your unique interpretation of Lara Croft GO in a contest to benefit Child’s Play Charity, and for the chance to win exclusive prizes. The GO series is about distilling the brand to its core and tapping into the essence of a franchise.
Enter the contest by submitting your original artwork and our panel of judges will choose their ten favorite pieces to be showcased in a gallery during a special event during PAX. The prints of the top 3 finalists will then be sold at auction, with all funds benefiting Child’s Play Charity, helping improve the lives of children in hospitals around the globe.
Lara Croft GO expands the turn-based puzzle gameplay and takes you on an adventure set in a long-forgotten world. Explore the ruins of an ancient civilization, discover hidden secrets and face deadly challenges as you uncover the myth of the Queen of Venom. Artistically, the GO series is about simplifying a very dense and complex universe into simple shapes and colors. We want you to do the same: reinvent what Lara Croft GO means for you visually.
Need some inspiration? You could give the GO treatment to your favorite classic Tomb Raider moment, such as Lara’s first encounter with the T-Rex, navigating the canals in Venice via speedboat, or turning to gold in a king’s disembodied hand. You can also create something strictly from your imagination, using the concept art below and our reveal trailer as a guide. We are looking for simple, minimalistic, poetic pieces that represent the great sense of adventure iconic to the Tomb Raider franchise.
Contest is open to residents in the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec) and concludes on August 21, 2015. Brush up on the submission guidelines and official rules below!
Tag your works of art with #LaraCroftGO and we’ll share them leading to launch.
Best of luck!
