I think the staff knows they have to lose 1, and would prefer it to be him.
Realistically, Morris is probably the best backup option. Oldest and has had the most practice reps by far. Obviously the staff does not want him to start but he seems like the most "dependable" option if things go wrong.
If Barnett (or Cornwell) is showing signs of playing early, then Bateman is completely S.O.L. anyway.
I could be seriously overreacting but there is no question that at least 1 QB will be transferring out following the Spring. Unless this is a joke or someone lost a bet, Bateman taking WR reps is pretty telling.
I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Avarette back at WR with the Sims injury. Although Bateman will be tough to beat out!
