Extremely upset.

Had 3 lines on my acct. Authorized transfer of 2 of the lines around 5/22

When the other acct owner went to finalize transfer of line at an ATT store, the rep mistakening transferred MY number, which was NOT authorized to that account. This was noticed a few days later when changing out SIM cards that the mistake was made. A local asst manager in my area called me to tell me of the mistake & they were keeping one of the lines on my old account so it would remain open to fix ATT's mistake.

I was notified to talk to the National Business Office. Was told by NBO that the store that made the transfer would have to reverse the acct. My local asst mgr said she would talk to her contact in Chicago & corporate to see what could be done to fix the acct. I advised the other acct owner to talk to their local store to reverse this. From what I understand, my local asst mgr tried contacting this other location that made the transfer. She late told me because my acct was an older acct that back billed vs the current pre-billing method, there was nothing they could do. NBO kept telling me different.

The other acct owner was told by her local store to wait until her next billing cycle & they would fix the acct, even tho I advised of the information I was told by NBO. It is now the next billing cycle. My account has been closed cuz the 3rd number was trasnferred on 6/13, making it NOW next to impossible to fix how my original account was.

Here it is, the next billing cycle. I am still going in circles with ATT, NBO & the local ATT fixing the acct issue that was an ATT mistake that I SHOULD NOT have to manage. I am already looking into another service provider as I dont want to open a new account that will put me into a 2 year contract when I just finished out a contract. Irritated that I contacted the NBO as advised & I'm still getting the run around & being made to feel like its my fault when ATT MADE THE MISTAKE.

My family has been with ATT since the mid-80s when it was SW Bell & mobile phones had to primarily be installed in the car or you carried a large bag around. I believe in brand loyalty & have stuck with ATT for over several decades but things like this have made me look into other avenues & look towards another brand to be loyal to. No thanksĀ  to ATTs mishandling.
