On Tuesday I attended the most stunning funeral, or day of celebration of a wonderful life.
Sam Cawkwell went out in the style she deserved, matchy matchy horse drawn sparkly silver hearse,a stunning picture coffin, horses mentioned in every breath and the most wonderful service. I am sure she would have looked down with pride at her families dignity and love.
Sam had so many family, friends, colleagues and contacts present that my daughter, friend and I had to stand outside the chapel with an equally large group as inside, to listen to the beautiful service. I know the whole family were in shock at the crowds of mourners who like myself traveled far and wide to support them and say their fond farewells to such an extraordinary young woman.
The anecdotes were sweet and made everyone smile. They told the world how funny, loving, kind and generous Sam Cawkwell was. We also realized how much we are all going to miss her humor, love and friendship.
So thank you to all who managed to make it. I am sure Elaine, John, Andrew and the family would want me to pass on their thanks as it truly made the day a perfect tribute to Sam xxxx
