Dear saxophonists and Professors,
This year, on the 200th anniversary of Adolphe Sax's birth, the 19th INTERNATIONAL MASTER CLASS SERIES organised by the Rostock Hochschule für Musik, at Rostock Summer Campus, Germany, opens its doors to saxophone.
From 21st to 29th AUGUST 2014, the summer campus at Rostock University of Music and Drama offers master classes with internationally renowned artists and teachers. Besides receiving intensive tuition, participants have the opportunity to perform in concerts and to rehearse and perform as soloists with a professional orchestra, while the academy’s programme favours chamber music as well. The Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot, under the musical direction of Wojciech Rajski, is an experienced orchestra placed at the disposal of the masterclass students (saxophone repertoire: Ibert, Glazounov and Villa-Lobos). The classes are aimed at music students and musicians from all over the world who would like to undergo advanced training.
Participants will have an opportunity to work with several professors, specialists in classical, jazz and contemporary music: Clément Himbert, Detlef Bensmann, Jan Schulte-Bunert and Uwe Steinmetz; workshop with Frank Gratkowski and Fo[u]r Alto quartet.
Concerts take place all along the Academy. Free admission to the participants.

En cette année bicentenaire de la naissance d' Adolphe Sax, l’académie d’été de la Hochschule für Musik de Rostock (Allemagne) s’ouvre pour la première fois au saxophone.
Les participants pourront recevoir les conseils de plusieurs professeurs, dans les domaines jazz, classique et contemporain : Clément Himbert, Detlef Bensmann, Jan Schulte-Bunert et Uwe Steinmetz; ateliers avec Frank Gratkowski et le quatuor Fo[u]r Alto.
La musique de chambre est également au programme de l’académie, et un orchestre professionnel, l'Orchestre Philharmonique de chambre de Sopot, est à disposition des professeurs et étudiants (répertoire pour le saxophone : Ibert, Glazounov et Villa-Lobos).
Des concerts sont programmés tout au long de l’académie, et en accès libre pour les participants.
