It plays on you computer or with any Pro electronic musical equipment like a normal Synthesizer would, but it's a saxophone!
It is a real Yamaha alto sax that has been fitted with MIDI Synth electronics. You play a real sax, but the resulting sound is from the Synth electronics, not from the air going through the sax.
The mouthpiece is a Yamaha alto mouthpiece that uses a normal reed, which vibrates on a thin metal plate. The vibration is electronically amplified and used to create the MIDI sounds - any sound, from any instrument that your software can play. The mouthpiece is a normal alto mouthpiece and is played like a normal sax mouthpiece, you can increase/decrease the air pressure/speed, and the sound changes intensity accordingly. You can bend notes, produce vibrato, ect. Altissimo is easy because you can use more than 2 octaves, so you have a huge range of notes, and always in tune! The Sythophone can be set up to be tuned in Bb, Eb or C, so you can use it as if it were a tenor or alto for example, or soprano or bass or bari, any sax!
I used the Synthophone for practicing without disturbing my family and the neighbors. I had it connected to my MAC and played it in Garage Band with headphones on. It is perfect for this purpose. I used to have an Akai EWI too, but I never liked it because it didn't have the real sax keywork. The Synthophone allows you to exercise your fingers exactly as you would do on a normal horn, so your technique improves as it would if you were playing a real horn.

This sax is very hard to find. It sells new for $3800. I sell it for $2200 (1590 Euro) Plus shipping. Payment with Paypal personal or bank transfer.
