Anyway surely it doesn't have to be mutually exclusive. TVOC had 33 new members last year, I'm sure some of them will be helping at this years British Middle championship, or at least competing.
Interesting. I have personally seen evidence of the many, many, newcomers at their local events, but if 150 - 200 newcomers per event (excellent as it is), translates to 33 new club members a year, is there then a second part of the 'recruitment' process they need to work on, I wonder - or do most newcomers come once and not again? Perhaps Mike Shires could comment?
