A recent dealer meet for Bajaj Autos took place and they came up with the news of launching two street bikes - the brand new Bajaj Pulsar 160 NS and Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS Fi edition. 160 NS is Bajaj's naked street bike variant which will be based slightly on the Pulsar 150 series.

The Bajaj Pulsar 160 cc comes with a single cylinder oil cooled engine with triple spark technology. The performance parameters of the new 160 cc NS variant are yet to be known.

But clearly the Pulsar 160 NS performance numbers in terms of power and torque would be higher than the current power and torque of Pulsar 150 ( 15.06 PS and 12.5 Nm ).

The new street bike will have both an electric and kick start as an offering. Not so surprisingly the 160 cc variant of Pulsar NS will borrow the same design from 200 NS with a muscular fuel tank and skinny side panels. The bike will also feature a halogen head lamp, minimal head fairing, digital instrument panel ( with analog tachometer) and fuel filler cap.

The street bike will also have an air deflecting cowl ahead of engine, silver finish center stay and foot rest, an exhaust near underbelly, sporty split seats, split grab handle, clear lens indicators, saree guard and of most the split LED tail lamp.

The bike also features regular telescopic suspension on the front and mono-shock with coil over spring at rear. The front tyres will have petal disc and the rear tyres will have drum disc brakes.

The Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS is more of a familiar product, launched way back in 2012 becoming the segment favourite. It was launched in 2012 but the model was discontinued much to the anger of fans as the 200 NS had then become the most preferred naked street bike.

The model is set to make a comeback in the Indian market in January 2017. And the best part is that now the new Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS will be launched in Fi ( fuel injected engine variant ). The old version was offered with a carburetor engine.

The is also expected to be coming with major feature upgrades such as ABS option and new body graphics. The 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS will be powered by a 199.5 cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine which will deliver a power of 23.52 PS and an maximum torque of 18.3 Nm the same as the previous version.

Also it is a known fact that the fuel injected version of the Pulsar 200 NS is being sold in the international markets such as Turkey with the same performance figures as mentioned here.You can also expect the new Pulsar 200 NS with some visual upgrades such as styling kits, dual tone colour schemes and a relocated Pulsar logo.

But, ofcourse you can expect the upgraded variant to be available in a higher price tag than previous version but it will still be a cheaper competitor to KTM 200 Duke.
