I think we need to look at the facts and some past history.
1. Rob Feinstein does not have a reputation as a good, respectable person. He got caught by Perverted Justice and tried to soil their name by saying they "tricked him". Perverted Justice has put a lot of scum bags away and Feinstein would be one of them if it wasn't To Catch A Predators first season. I believe the second season is when they introduced the Police element and started putting these guys away. Anyway, instead of Feinstein being a man, admitting he was wrong and seeking psychological help he evades, says he's the victim etc etc. Sound familiar?
2. Woodmo talked about Feinstein faking photos in the past. I haven't seen the thread (Can someone post it?) but if someone is willing to fake photos what stops them from faking autographs and playing it off as "lol it's a joke" or "I worked you lawl"?
3.Feinstein has a reputation for lying to his DVD customers. I've heard complaints in the past ranging from "Never sent it" to "Came three months late after constantly hounding him". Feinstein is not a good guy.
Now this current incident:
1. The artist really has no reason to lie about this. What reason does he have to say untrue things about Rob who would likely be a repeat customer in the future and bring negative attention to himself?
2. Feinstein has only proved that the "They Live" picture has been around for awhile which the artist openly admits. The discussion is about the legitimate picture of Piper and I believe a change of paper or other minor changes?
3. Where would the person that sold Feinstein the images have got the signatures from? I don't know how much Piper charges in the States but he would have been about 30 dollars over here. I'm guessing the picture itself is about 15 dollars so we're expected to believe that this random guy (Who hasn't come forward) spent hundreds of dollars on autographed pictures of Piper and instead of selling them at a heightened rate due to the unfortunate death of Piper he traded them for a bunch of RF Shoots which you can find online at tons of websites. Don't buy it.
4. Only proof that this person actually exists is that Waltman allegedly saw him. That's already been proved incorrect so I won't go into it further.
The bottom line is that a lot of Feinstein's story just doesn't add up. His story is that he bought a bunch of unsigned prints and then someone just happened to be attending the convention and had a bunch of signed prints worth hundreds (If not thousands depending on how many he had) that looked exactly the same and he traded to Feinstein for DVD's that can easily be found online. Whilst not impossible I think the story would be a lot more believable if the convention in question was wrestling and not a horror convention. It's also very fishy that Rob was selling just signed copies and not unsigned ones because realistically you'd want to save the best until last or at least offer both at the same time.
I'm not really a wrestling guy in terms of autographs. I'll get the legendary Hall Of Fame guys at pop culture conventions (Just met Jake The Snake actually) but for people that are and can't actively meet these guys they'd rely on a guy like Rob because it's assumed he has access. As I said earlier, Rob can likely be trusted with the lower end guys like an X-Pac or Dreamer but for big names he can't be.I also always found it fishy that he'd spin a story and say something like "Hey guys, went to my storage facility today and found 35 autographed Bam Bam Bigelow pictures. Selling them for 75 each" He's sold a lot of deceased wrestlers in the past as well and I've always thought they had to have been fake.
Also forgeries just suck for the consumer. I don't like to buy autographs but there are a lot of people I'd love to buy signatures of simply because I can't meet them but I'm too afraid to do so because of the forgers. On another forum I visit I've seen people get burned by Sean Connery fakes where they've sometimes paid a thousand dollars. Just a pathetic business (Forging)
