Quote:A position paper from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives published by The Washington Post laid out a major rethink of the bureau’s restrictions on a number of firearms-related items, including a proposal to loosen restrictions on suppressors.

Under current regulations, suppressors are heavily regulated under the National Firearms Act of 1934. However, the “white” paper from Associate Deputy Director Ronald Turk — second in command at the ATF, according to The Washington Post — said that classification is “archaic.”

ATF Paper by Turk, Great news

The paper also recommends importation and sale through CMP of M1 Rifles and M1911 pistols. Also legalizing (deregulating) silencers. Freakin awesome.

I am very excited at the prospect and hope the rules change quickly.
