It contains not only the basic rules of the forum, but also lots of useful information and help that you can use if you have lost you forum-travelling compass! It includes lots of important advice you should try to follow at the time of communicating with other members, creating threads and commenting, sharing your designs, and, fundamentally, enjoying yourself in the process! ;)

If you only read one section of this thread, choose “The Rule Book” category below and read our rules and recommendations.

The Colour Infection Rule Book
Hello and welcome!
If you are familiar with forums please still skim over the following post as all forums are slightly different, especially as the Color Infection Forum is a game based forum.

What is a forum?
An internet forum is an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages. Forums have their own tree-like structure: Categories which have been created and hold threads (also known as conversations) which hold many replies (also known as comments or posts).

There are many things about this forum that makes it quite different from other forums. Not only rules we’re talking about here: also the environment is meant to be different. Resuming a lot, the Forum stands for friendship, encouragement for new members, improvement of ideas, and the sharing of user’s creations. It is also meant to be a place of entertainment and mind resting, where tough competition/races among members, rating of designs and negative criticism are not well seen. Please try to know and understand these means before signing up. They are explained later on throughout this Rule Book.

If you happen to find yourself in a situation where a Moderator is required, you can talk to any of them asking for help (create a new discussion and whisper it to a moderator).
And these are all of the basics you need to know before getting started... except... oh! I forgot the most important thing!
Enjoy our community and have fun! =)

Color Infection Editor
The Color Infection Editor has come along way since 2009, check out the old ones at least once to be able to appreciate the newest version Tapir has created :)
The oldest version provides the simple and basic requirements for what made this the Color Infection Editor
I'd advice to make your first design in the first editor, to get the hang of it, and to train your designing skills.
Once you've got an amazing design created, copy the play code not the source code, and return to the forum to post it

Posting my design
The first thing when posting your design is creating a new discussion for everyone to see your design in,
This button is in the top left corner of the forum almost at all times,
Give your discussion a name based on your design, and write a few lines or so as you feel fit,
Then post your play and the forum will generate your design automatically inside a spoiler!

Moderators
The Color Infection form has a team of moderators to make sure the forums keeps running smoothly. Please stick to these simple rules and keep them happy!

Rules
- Do not post anything abusive, hateful, harassing, obscene, or threatening.
- Do not post any personal details, of yourself or any other person.
- Do not post spam. (Spam is considered as unwanted and irrelevant posts.)
- Do not post advertisements.
- Do not use a signature that is larger than three lines of text.

Recommendations
- Try to put your discussion in the right category when you create a new thread.
- Try to put images, or large amounts of text into spoilers.
- Try not to post in old threads (that haven’t been posted in for a long time) without adding something substantial and relevant to the thread.
- Try not to ask for role promotion unless you feel you have been overlooked, in which case you should chat with a moderator privately.
- Try not to post simple images created with the editor that do not consist of some sort of interactive or automatic contraption.

Spoilers
To create a spoiler for images or large amounts of text, simply write the following:

And it will become a spoiler!
Just enter your own title and message. Also remember to put spaces before and after your message and the whole spoiler.
