The Role: Waste Advisor
Capita Resourcing Ltd are looking for Waste Advisor to work at our clients facility at Dounreay in Thurso.
Description:
• Provide waste advice to DSRL organisations and project teams on regulatory issues
• Support interface between decommissioning projects/environmental closure and demolition organisation and the waste directorate through to final decommissioning and clearance
• Act as a stakeholder in a range of waste processes, including DMRs, HAZOPs, UNOR investigations, BPM assessments
• Provide specialist waste support to interface with the site’s regulators including SEPA, ONR and EURATOM
• Produce waste documentation in line with project and legislative requirements, including Project Specific Waste Plans, Activity Assessments, Waste/Characterisation Advice Notes, Waste Consignments
• Perform the responsibilities of Management Appointments relevant to post
The Job Holder may:
• Provide specialised knowledge into the waste directorate programme strategy development and implementation throughout facility decommissioning
• Support improvements in the Dounreay Waste Management System
• Provide plant specific waste process and awareness training
• Manage contractors
Qualifications & Experience
HND in Science/Engineering or equivalent qualification plus experience
3 years relevant nuclear site experience
Terms and Conditions
Salary : £15 - £20 Per Hour PAYE, overtime rates apply as standard
Monday-Friday 37.9 hours per week
Holidays – Pro rata as per client entitlement – PAYE only
Temporary Contract – 11 months
