SAN DIEGO -- Until Thursday, Jesse Hahn hadnt pitched seven innings since his junior year of college in 2010, after which he had reconstructive elbow surgery. The rookie right-hander pitched seven strong innings and pinch-hitter Chris Denorfia singled in the go-ahead run in a four-run seventh for the San Diego Padres, who rallied for the second straight game to beat the Seattle Mariners 4-1 on Thursday night. "Im building up my innings and my pitch count and Ive actually felt stronger and stronger as I went out there, so hopefully next start Ill be able to go eight, and maybe a complete game," Hahn said. The light-hitting Padres salvaged a split of the four-game season series by winning consecutive games for the first time since May 30-31. Robinson Cano had three singles for the Mariners, who beat the Padres in Seattle on Monday and Tuesday. Hahn (2-1) was making his third big league start. He held Seattle to an unearned run and five hits, struck out seven and walked two. In his last two starts, Hahn has allowed no earned runs and just six hits while striking out 14 in 13 innings. "He did a lot of nice things on the mound," manager Bud Black said. "He showed again composure for a guy whos only made three major league starts, so there was a lot of good today from Jesse." Huston Street pitched the ninth for his 20th save in 20 opportunities, getting a double-play ball after allowing a double and single with one out. Seattles Erasmo Ramirez, winless since April 1, left with a 1-0 lead after six innings. But Dominic Leone (2-1) allowed four runs, three hits and a walk while getting only one out in the seventh. Yasmani Grandal grounded out leading off the Padres seventh before they tied it on consecutive triples by Tommy Medica and Cameron Maybin. On Wednesday night, Medicas RBI pinch-hit single in the eighth gave the Padres a 2-1 win. Carlos Quentin walked and was replaced by pinch-runner Jace Peterson before Denorfia, pinch-hitting for Hahn, singled to centre to bring in Maybin with the go-ahead run. Joe Beimel came on and retired Will Venable before allowing Everth Cabreras two-run single to right. "Hittings contagious," Medica said. "A few guys start doing it, I mean, it starts clicking. We did it that inning and hopefully we can get it rolling a little more." Ramirez held San Diego to two hits while striking out three and walking two. "Im back to being myself, like I used to be," he said. "Ive been throwing balls, balls and now this has been the opposite, throw more strikes. Every outing I feel like Im getting better. Im just going to continue to pound the strike zone. That is my goal." Said Black: "Ramirez had us. Whether we were behind the fastball and ahead of the change, he and (catcher John) Buck had us going back and forth. He had us in vice grips for those six innings. They made a pitching change and we got some things going." Cano drove in Seattles only run with his second single off Hahn, in the fifth. Cano extended his road hitting streak to 20 games. Brad Miller drew a leadoff walk and was safe at second on Endy Chavezs one-out grounder after Cabrera, the shortstop, dropped the ball for an error. Miller scored on Canos single to right-centre. "Im not going to take anything away from that young man," Seattle manager Lloyd McClendon said. "I thought he threw a pretty good game. He kept us off-balance with his slow curveball. He kept his fastball down for the most part. We had some chances but we just didnt have good at-bats in scoring opportunities today and that has been our challenge all year." NOTES: The Padres placed 1B Yonder Alonso on the 15-day DL, retroactive to Tuesday, with tendinitis in his right wrist. ... To take his place on the roster, OF Jake Goebbert was selected from Triple-A El Paso. Goebbert is still waiting to make his big league debut. He was in the on-deck circle in the seventh but was pulled back for Denorfia. He was acquired from Oakland on May 15 in the deal that sent Kyle Blanks to Oakland. ... Padres 2B Jedd Gyorko had his left foot put back into a cast and walking boot. He had removed them recently as he battles plantar fasciitis. "Its not a good sign," Black said. "But hopefully it helps."... The Padres open a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night, when RHP Dan Haren (7-4, 3.54 ERA) is scheduled to face RHP Ian Kennedy (5-8, 3.72). ... Nate Robinson, David Lee and Brandon Rush all scored 17 points for the Warriors, who managed to put aside the surprising five-player trade with Milwaukee by game time Tuesday night in beating the Sacramento Kings 115-89 for their third straight victory. The Warriors agreed to send Ellis, forward Ekpe Udoh and centre Kwame Brown to Milwaukee for Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson, a person with direct knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been announced. Many of the Warriors mentioned the move demonstrates that the NBA is a business. Yet it was hardly business as usual in the locker room prior to the game. Coach Mark Jackson said the team laughed, cried and mourned the loss of three teammates for a short time before turning their attention to the game. "It was emotionally draining for us," Jackson said. "These were three guys we were attached to. Its a business and we talked about it. Its hard to see guys in this business go other places. This hurts." Like everyone on the Warriors, forward Dorell Wright didnt see the trade coming. An eight-year veteran, Wright said Thursdays trade deadline is predictably a time of speculation and there are always numerous rumours, but the deal surprised him. "I was stunned," said Wright, who had 14 points and 10 rebounds. "I took it hard. It was three guys I was close to as friends. You hear rumours every year, but most of the time they arent true. Ive never been a part of something like this happening right before a game." Although it stunned the Warriors, they didnt play like it, receiving strong contributions from practically all 10 players who were in uniform. Charles Jenkins had 15 points and Klay Thompson scored 14 for Golden State, which shot 50 per cent, made 12-of-24 3-pointers, committed just seven turnovers, and had six block shots. "Obviously we were more tuned into what they had going on in their locker room than ours," Kings forward Chuck Hayes said. "So we deserved it. We deserved to get our butts kicked." Despite the loss of its top scorer and a key reserve, the Warriors pulled away in the second half for an easy victory. Ahead by 11 points after three quarters, Golden State extended it to 21 points by midway through the fourth. DeMarcus Cousins had 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Kings, who lost their second straight home game. Tyreke Evans had 16 points, Isaiah Thomas scored 15 and Francisco Garcia added 11. It was the fourth of nine straight home games for Sacramento, the longest homestand in franchise history. "We thought because they didnt have Monta Ellis and stuff, we thought it was going to be easy oon ourselves," Evans said.dddddddddddd "I thought we just stopped playing. They just got whatever they wanted." Drafted out of high school as a second-round pick in 2005 by Golden State, Ellis became one of the NBAs most dangerous open-court players and has averaged 19.6 points in seven seasons. But the Warriors made the playoffs just once with him. Ellis spoke in the visitors locker room before the game and didnt seem upset regarding the trade, which came in the same week he was named the Western Conference Player of the Week. He averaged 20.5 points, 7.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds last week in leading the Warriors to a 3-1 record. Ellis exchanged goodbyes with stunned teammates, then quickly left the arena for the unexpected quick return trip to Oakland with Udoh, who appeared shocked after learning of the trade on a locker room TV. "Its not a bad thing, man," Ellis said. "Not at all. We are going to another team to do the same thing we love to do. Im riding back home with him (Udoh)." The Warriors get a quality centre, but also one who is injury prone and may not even play this season. Bogut, picked first overall by Milwaukee in the 2005 draft, hasnt played since injuring his left ankle in a Jan. 25 game. He has played in only 12 games this year and missed a combined 76 games in the previous three seasons. The traded players will receive a quick opportunity to play against their ex-teams when the Bucks visit Golden State on Friday evening. Because the trade hadnt officially been completed, Jackson refused to speculate on how the new players would be utilized and what the trade might do to his teams chances of making the playoffs. "Monta was our leading scorer, the heart and soul of our team," Lee said. "It was tough to see him go. This is business and there is no way to sugar coat this. Thats the way it goes down in this league." Golden State was also without its other starting guard, Stephen Curry, who has had a bothersome right ankle injury for much of the season. Curry started and played 10 scoreless minutes Sunday against the Los Angeles Clippers before leaving the game for good with ankle problems. "Im fed up with it. Im not able to produce," said Curry, who was unclear about when he might play again. "I have to let it heal. What that means I dont know yet." With Ellis gone and Curry not dressing, Robinson made his first start of the season. He had 15 points at the half, when the Warriors had a 54-49 lead. Cousins scored 15 points for the Kings. Wright scored 11 points in the third quarter, when the Warriors outscored the Kings 30-24 to assume an 84-73 lead. Notes: Robinson made a pair of 3-pointers and scored 12 points in the first quarter, helping the Warriors to a 2924 lead. . Kings forward J.J. Hickson played in a reserve role after missing the previous six games with a hip pointer. . Buffalo Bills wide receiver Steve Johnson watched the game from a courtside seat. cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys ' ' '
