On Wednesday, Syrian Army and its allies carried out military operations with focus on targeting the gatherings of ISIS terrorists in Deir Ez Zour city and its surrounding areas.

According to the information, provided by the SANA reporter in Deir Ez Zour, the army units managed to extend their control in the graveyard areas, located in the southern outskirts of Deir Ez Zour city in the direction of the road that links Deir Ez Zour Airport with the residential neighborhoods of the city. The army targeted major ISIS hubs and infiltration points. In addition to the casualties among the terrorists, the army also inflicted damage on the terrorist property which resulted in destruction of 2 vehicles, belonging to the terrorists. The military operations were backed by the Syrian Air Force which carried out several airstrikes on ISIS targets in Al Hamidiyeh, Al Omaal, Al Rashidiyeh, and Al Jabiliyeh neighbourhoods of Deir Ezzor city as well as in Thardah, Muhandisin and Al Husseiniyeh areas, the town of Al Sowar and in the nearby factories and graveyards areas.

The Syrian Army has also made advancements towards the old city of Palmyra. West of the city, the army successfully carried out operations in the town of Al Douh. The army also managed to break through ISIS defense South-West of Palmyra and is now only 10 kilometers away from the city.

Advancements were also made by the self-proclaimed “Syrian Democratic Forces” who have allegedly taken control of the Jarwan area in Deir Ez Zour, with the help of the American backup support.
