Two Needville men are charged with burglary of a residence, and one remains on the loose.
Wednesday, Dec. 18, about 9 a.m., at a home in the 8900 block of Janda Road near rural Fairchilds, Texas, a babysitter heard a loud crashing sound from the back of the house where she was babysitting. She went to investigate. When she walked into the kitchen she was face to face with three black males inside the house attempting to remove a flat screen television.
“The woman yelled at the suspects and they ran out the back door and got into a white Chevrolet Impala, which was headed toward FM 2977 (Minonite Road),” said Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel. She was able to provide the 911 operator with solid physical descriptions and vehicle information so within minutes of the suspects fleeing the scene, Needville Police officers spotted the suspect vehicle.
After a brief pursuit in the getaway car and then another on foot, two of the three suspects were arrested. However, the third suspect eluded capture.
The two suspects arrested were identified as Leonard Mayberry Jr., 25, of Needville, and Alfonzo Armstead, 20, also of Needville. Both remain in the Fort Bend County Jail under $20,000 bonds.The elusive suspect has been identified as Jarcquez Williams of Rosenberg.
These three are facing charges in connection with the Janda Road burglary as well as another burglary in the 7800 block of FM 2977 (Minonite Road). The property stolen from the Minonite Road burglary was recovered from inside the Impala getaway car.
Anyone with information which leads to the apprehension and conviction of Jarcquez Williams could earn a reward of up to $5,000.
