We are currently looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our Hosting Solutions division, in Elk Grove Village, IL\.

**JOB SUMMARY**

Reporting to the Manager of Hosting Operations, The Senior Network Engineer is accountable for day\-to\-day administration, maintenance and security of core networking equipment\. This role is responsible for proactive monitoring and incident response, in our Elk Grove Village data center location\. Your home office must be within a reasonable commute to our data center\.

**In this role, you will:**

+ Have the opportunity to play a substantial part in the implementation of our new Data Center environment\.
+ Be involved in planning, design, implementation and support of network infrastructure for business\-critical production environments; including deployment of various network equipment and topologies, monitoring and process improvement, analysis, and resolution of infrastructure related issues, and participation in a 24 x 7 on\-call rotation\.
+ Interact with highly skilled engineers with a variety of technical backgrounds who like to share their knowledge, but also want to learn from you\.
+ Be responsible for the configuration of network equipment, securing of customer environments, as well as maintenance of customer and Forsythe networks\.
+ Gain real\-world experience with networking at many levels – Virtual, Cloud, Data Center, etc\.
+ Manage Firewall administration including rulebase auditing, access control, configuration, and maintenance of IPSec VPNs\.
+ Broaden your horizons outside of networking through exposure to VMware, Windows Systems, Unix Systems, and many others\.
+ Provide 24x7 on\-call support on a rotating basis\. Represent Forsythe in interactions with customers \(primarily by telephone\) and vendors/partners \(by phone and in person\.\)
+ Conduct proactive monitoring of Forsythe and Customer environments and prompt incident response\.
+ Report to Managers who understand the technology and will understand you\.

**Required Skills**

**SKILL REQUIREMENTS:**

+ Exposure to modern networking architectures and technologies \(e\.g\., Cisco ACI, REST, IPS\)\.
+ Exposure to Cisco and Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco IOS and CatOS switches\.
+ Have exposure to Citrix VPX load balancers, F5 Load Balancers, and Bluecoat IPS systems\.
+ Have exposure to AWS/GCE/cloud related technologies and virtualization technologies \(VMWare\)\.
+ Have exposure to AIX\.
+ Have Nexus experience\.
+ Experience with Cisco WLAN management and VoIP telephony\.
+ Experience working in a datacenter environment\.
+ Relevant certifications or training courses\.

**Required Experience**

**MINIMUM AND/OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

**EDUCATION:**

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred

+ Your first thought when working on a task is “how can I automate this?”
+ You have faced the production impact of network anomalies and understand what it takes to work as a member of the team to resolve high severity issues\.
+ You have experience with Network Management and Analysis tools such as Nagios, NetFlow analyzers, Packet analysis tools\.
+ You possess a strong methodology for troubleshooting and resolving day to day network issues\.
