The 4th incarnation of the Footy Prophet Expert League started with the draft on the 23rd February 2016 at the magnificent Sporting Globe in Richmond, as a side note to start off if you’re looking for a great pub to watch the big game make sure you give the Sporting Globe a try, terrific venue.
As competitive as the previous three years preceding this one has been there has been two standouts. Two teams have never finished outside the top three, sharing in the premierships between the two of us.

I think my record speaks for itself. But ultimately, I think I have a great chance because I’m an active league member, I pay attention to where each other team is struggling, and am a bit of an all-rounder when it comes to drafting, free agents, and trading. Trades certainly played a big part in me winning last year (traded out Ablett for Andrew Swallow, traded out Fyfe in about round 15 for Stefan Martin), and in the EL I’d rather have a mix of brand name players that I can offer as trade bait, and lesser names that will score well without costing a high draft pick. I’m also careful with my waiver priority – with a continually rolling list I’ll save it for that ripper free agent, rather than put in a bid every week.

Their coach, me, Josh Elliott, has won fantasy premierships across Ultimate Footy, AFL Fantasy, and Super 10 – but, not in the Experts just yet, as flag coaches Alex Mulholland and Matthew James will tell you without you even needing to ask (though we did make the granny in 2014). Most people would call me knowledgeable to the point of arrogance! I would agree. I am the one to beat in this Expert Draft league in 2016. Been playing draft leagues for many years now. Love me some UF and I have to say that the new look this year is very slick. There is no better trader in the game than Rids so expect some very big offers that involve multiple premiums.
