League One side Scunthorpe United look set to appoint Mark Robins as the clubs new manager.
Russ Wilcox was surprisingly dismissed as manager of Scunthorpe on Wednesday, despite guiding the club to promotion last term.
Caretaker Andy Dawson will take charge of the side for their weekend clash with Gillingham, with Robins set to be appointed on Monday.
“I’m delighted because the most important thing was to not leave the team in limbo,” Club chairman Peter Swann said.
“We’ve spent the last 24 hours ironing out the contract and we’re there now so we hope to announce the appointment on Monday.
“I was impressed with Mark’s track record and I hope he has a long tenure here. It’s a great opportunity for him and for us.”
Robins, who left Huddersfield Town after just one match of the 2014/15 Championship season, takes over a club 23rd in League One.
Wilcox was sacked, despite a 28-game unbeaten run during their promotion campaign last season, but only managed four wins from 15 matches this term.
