This fall brings two not-to-be-missed events from Food Tank and partners. The first-ever Farm Tank Summit, in partnership with the Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau's Farm-to-Fork program and the University of California, Davis, takes place September 22–23 in Sacramento, CA. Then, on November 16, join us for the 1st Annual Chicago Food Tank Summit. In partnership with the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Food Tank brings you an action-packed day featuring 40 different speakers from the food and agriculture field. Researchers, farmers, chefs, policy makers, government officials, and students will come together for interactive panels.
At Farm Tank, join us as we bring together more than 30 industry leaders from across the food system for a riveting two-day program. Day one of the conference will bring leaders from all corners of the food system together for a series of lively and interactive discussions about transparency in the food system, innovative food technologies, sustainable protein sources, and much, much more.
Navina Khanna, Director of the HEAL Food Alliance, will start us off with a morning keynote address. The afternoon and evening keynotes will bring Saru Jayaraman, Co-Director and Co-Founder of Restaurant Opportunities Centers (ROC) United, and Michael Dimock, President, Roots of Change, to the podium. Each panel, moderated by top journalists in the field, features a keynote address from a prominent figure in the food and agriculture industries, in addition to a diverse array of panelists. Look for interviews with many of them on our website in the coming weeks, and find a complete list of confirmed speakers below.
On day two, you’ll leave the conference room behind and get your hands dirty. Excursions to farms, food banks, restaurants, manufacturers, and other industry sites will bring you to the heart of the action. To get a sense of the roadmap, visit the Farm Tank event page.
Catch a sneak preview from keynote speaker Michael Dimock :
“Farming should not be based on an industrial paradigm. Rather, to be sustainable, it requires a biological or agroecological paradigm that acknowledges that all living things are connected, interdependent, and only possible because of a natural resource base that must be restored.”—Michael Dimock, President of Roots of Change
Don’t wait—this event is sure to sell out. Tickets are $249—this includes our dinner reception on September 22, which promises to be a memorable meal featuring locally sourced food, drink, and conversation!
