These are easy pressure cooker meals you can make in minutes! I use an electric Fagor pressure cooker just like this one: Fagor 670040230 Stainless-Steel 3-in-1 6-Quart Multi-Cooker. Here’s the deal you may be afraid to use one because it looks complicated, it’s not. It’s so easy to use and you can make meals quickly! I have step by step instructions below as well as some printables with cooking times for meats, veggies and grains. So let’s get started with some pressure cooker meals right now.

Here are tips on how to use a pressure cooker:

Step #1 In this pressure cooker whatever you make MUST have a minimum of one cup of liquid to build up the steam every time you use it.

Step #2 Place the lid on after you have placed the food you want to cook (with one cup of water minimum) and turn it until it clicks into place. It will lock when you turn the pressure regulator button to “pressure” on the top.

Step #3 Touch the HIGH or LOW button, I typically always use the HIGH button. Check out my printable charts below to help you choose the time required to pressure cook the food item you are cooking. If your food is frozen it will take longer, (about twice as long). The cooking times in my charts are for unfrozen food. It’s so easy you will cook every meal in one of these babies! You just keep clicking the high button until for instance it shows 6 minutes for rice. Make sure the button on top is set at pressure or set depending on what kind of pressure cooker you are using. Then you push the start button. Then you let it do it’s thing. Dinner is ready in no time.

2 cans of tuna fish, drained

1/2 cup grated onion

Salt and pepper to taste

Pasta Recipe

If you want to cook a recipe with pasta, here is the formula I use:

Ingredients:

1 pound uncooked pasta

48 ounces of spaghetti sauce or canned tomatoes to cover the ingredients in the pan

Meat, precooked sausage, cooked chopped chicken or cooked fried hamburger

Chopped onions, chopped green pepper

Shredded carrots (optional-I like to sneak in all the veggies I can)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Combine all of the ingredients in the pressure cooker. It must be a little watery because the liquid will be absorbed into the pasta.  After cooking, drizzle olive oil and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Cook on high for 6 minutes. Use natural release as stated below.

Best Egg Salad Sandwich Recipe

I cook my eggs in a pressure cooker (look for instructions below) to make my egg salad recipe. They are so easy to make in a pressure cooker with or without silicone cupcake holders.

Ingredients:

8-9 hard-boiled eggs, peeled

1 tablespoon sugar

3/4 cup Mayonnaise or Miracle Whip

Salt & Pepper to taste

Instructions:

Chop the eggs as finely as possible. I use a chopper. Combine the eggs, mayonnaise or Miracle Whip. Stir in the salt, pepper and sugar. Serve on lettuce bed or make a sandwich with the mixture.

For Hard Boiled Eggs-Add One Cup Water:

First I add one cup of water into the pressure cooker. This is the minimum amount required you must add to build up the pressure. You can use silicone cupcake holders and bake 7 eggs (that’s how many fit in my pressure cooker). I typically cook 10-12 eggs without the silicone holders. You can cook them either way.

Then place the lid on the cooker and lock in place. Line up the PRESSURE lines on top of the lid. Push the HIGH button until it shows 18 (minutes) then push the START button. The pressure will build up and then buzz you when it is finished.

Release the steam button on top of the lid. Be careful and place a washcloth over the small black cap on top to protect yourself from the steam, as well as your cabinets when steam is released.

It took 18 minutes to cook 10-12 eggs in my Fagor Pressure Cooker. After releasing the steam from the pressure cooker, I used a slotted spoon to remove them from the pan inside the pressure cooker.  Next I plunged the eggs in ice cold water like we all do to make them easy to peel. These peeled so easily…the shells and skins just slipped off. These were very fresh eggs, the kind that often don’t peel easily.  I was really excited to know that going forward I can use eggs fresh off the store shelf and know they will be easy to work with. I remember when my kids were young and wanted to have boiled eggs for a treat, I used to worry the eggs wouldn’t “shed” their shell as easily as desired. Sure wish I’d had this Fagor Pressure Cooker back then!

Pork Loin Dinner

Ingredients:

3 pounds pre-seasoned pork loin (not frozen)

1 onion quartered

6 raw potatoes cut in pieces

8 carrots, sliced

1 cup water

Instructions:

Place the onions, potatoes, and carrots in the pressure cooker. Place the pork loin on top of the veggies. Add one cup water. Place the lid of the pressure cooker on top of the base until it clicks into place. Next turn the dial on top of the lid  to pressure and set the timer as indicated in your pressure cooker book based on what is being cooked. I cooked this meal on HIGH for 60 minutes. The meat is so tender and the vegetables are perfect.

I took this statement from Fagor Pressure Cooker Website. and I quote:

a) Natural release method: let the pressure drop naturally without turning the pressure regulator knob to “Steam”. This will take several minutes, during which the food inside will continue cooking. Some recipes benefit from this extra cooking time. You will know when the pressure has been released for the floating valve will drop and you will be able to open the lid.

b) Quick release method: release the pressure immediately by turning the pressure regulator knob to STEAM. All the pressure will be released in seconds. CAUTION: The steam coming out of the cooker will be hot, and might contain droplets of hot liquid. Always turn the jet of steam away from your face and hands. NOTE: If you do not press the START/STOP button at the end of the cooking time, the multi-cooker will beep periodically to remind you that the cooking ended. End of quote.
