Meghan Prestidge and I want to invite YOU to come on down to Concord Cookware (formerly the Concord Shop) on December 14 from 11 am to 2 pm to get some books signed. While you're there, you might as well stock up on any cookie cutters or other baking supplies you might need. And if you happen to be in the market for a Vitamix or an electric mixer, well, you're in luck judging by what I see on the topmost shelf!
Other events include a signing this Sunday 12/1 at 2 pm at Barnes & Noble in Peabody for you North Shore folks. Yes, there will be some tasty bites. They're putting me right in the front of the store so I can throw cake at people as they walk by.
The following Thursday 12/5 from 4:30 to 7 pm, I'll be at Xylem in Cambridge, a super-cute gift shop in the Kendall Square area. That's walking distance for many of you research and engineering folks. For everyone else, take the T over after work and enjoy some refreshments while discovering cool gifts like this or this.
Then on Saturday 12/7 is the big Eat Boutique Holiday Market in Boston's Seaport District. More than 40 small-batch food and drink makers will be represented as well as a lineup of local cookbook authors. I'll be signing books between 1 and 2 pm right after Joanne Chang. That means if you come right at one o'clock, you can get a book signed by each of us (just don't get so starstruck by Joanne that you forget about me!) This is a ticketed event. For prices, go here. For more information about the event, go here.
On Wednesday 12/11 at 7 pm, I'll be giving a live baking demonstration at the Trident on Newbury Street. Hoo boy. My first demo. That should be interesting. Looks like I'll be pulling out the astronaut diapers again. (Speaking of the Trident, did you see WINTERSWEET in the Boston Globe Magazine's holiday gift guide? That was awesome!)
Finally, on Friday evening 12/13 during Boston's Fort Point Holiday Stroll, you can catch me at Front, another cool and quirky gift shop. I'll be sipping cocktails and signing books and composing lengthy followup letters to Santa in my mind ("a girl can never have too many plates, you know" and "I've been verrrrrry good this year"). Don't make me drink alone, people.
Phew! That's a lot of signing. If all goes well, my hand will be a gnarled, twisted claw by Christmas. A list of post-holiday events will follow in the new year. Maybe I'll even venture out of Massachusetts. Hope to see you!
