..and it's all happening at The Food Channel!

Food News

The Food Channel® is hosting a meeting of enormous proportions next week--August 27, 2013, to be exact. That's when the Great Big Idaho® Potato Truck will visit the World’s Largest Fork outside The Food Channel’s offices. The potato—12,000 pounds; the fork—35 feet tall; the meeting—an enormous opportunity for photos and fun.

The Great Big Idaho Potato Truck was built to commemorate the Idaho Potato Commission’s 75th anniversary and the Tater Team tours the country to help raise funds and awareness for Meals On Wheels. Established in 1937, the Idaho Potato Commission is a state agency that is responsible for promoting and protecting the famous "Grown in Idaho®" seal, a federally registered trademark that assures consumers they are purchasing genuine, top-quality Idaho® potatoes.

Now on its second cross-country journey, the Great Big Idaho Potato Truck is making a stop at the World’s Largest Fork at 2215 W. Chesterfield Blvd., Springfield, Mo.

Everyone is invited between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to be a part of the big event. Chef Cari Martens, star of of The Food Channel’s “90 Seconds in the Kitchen,” will be on site to share the recipe for Grilled Potatoes and Red Onions with Mustard Vinaigrette using real Idaho potatoes and for interviews and photos. The Tater Team will be available, as well.
